Abstract:
We propose a data-driven evolutionary approach [EA] to the modeling of marine currents in the Bay of Monaco. The CMA (Covariance Matrix Adaptation) evolution strategy [CMA] [ES] is used to optimize the parameters of a predictive model [PM] that may be used as a surrogate of expensive and time-consuming finite-element simulations. The models obtained are reasonably accurate and easy to interpret.
